Rebecca leads the City’s Office of Economic Development, which works to foster an economy where no matter who you are, who you love, or where you’re from, you can achieve your career and business goals. Rebecca joined the City as its first Startup Advocate, and has a 20-year background in the private sector, including serving as GeekWire’s Chief Business Officer and Program Director for the nonprofit Alliance of Angels, Executive Director of the nonprofit Northwest Entrepreneur Network, and interim CEO for the nonprofit Vittana, a peer-to-peer lending platform for students in developing countries. She previously served as an adjunct instructor on entrepreneurship for the UW Foster MBA program, is currently on UW Foster’s Employer Advisory Board, and is a board director for the national non-partisan policy and research organization, the Center of American Entrepreneurship. Rebecca has served as a Techstars mentor since the organization launched in Seattle in 2010, and is, as always, an entrepreneur enthusiast.
