Inclusion was founded by Saeed Jabbar, a resident of Jamaica, Queens who recognized there were talented residents who lacked the skills and access required for jobs in technology. While many high-tech travelers pass through Jamaica on their way to and from JFK, the community hasn’t benefitted from the tech boom Silicon Alley and other parts of NYC are experiencing.
The many coding academies and programs were either too costly or made no effort to recruit residents from South East Queens and the other outer boroughs. Aware of how transformational technical skills can be, Saeed pooled together the funding and obtained the resources to launch Inclusion’s first class in web development.
With a rock star team and Saeed’s leadership, Inclusion is now growing exponentially, expanding its industry partnerships, and launching new classes to transform the lives of even more people through coding.
